If this is your first body waxing treatment then follow our tips below. Hopefully we can help you feel a little more relaxed and self-assured knowing what will happen from start to finish.
Decision Time: First decide which areas of body hair you actually want to have removed and what (if any) form of manscaping* you would like.
Let it Grow: Your hair should be about a quarter of an inch long. Too short and the wax won't grip well; too long and it'll be more painful.
Exfoliate: A day or two before your appointment, gently exfoliate the area. This helps in removing dead skin cells and can make hair removal easier.
Cleanliness: Shower before your appointment. It's just courteous and ensures a clean working area.
*specific patches or trimmed areas of hair you would like to keep.
Relax: Easier said than done, right? But the more relaxed you are, the less painful the experience will be. Relax and take deep breaths!
Communicate: Modern waxing methods can be more of a short lived discomfort rather than something painful. Nevertheless, if you are feeling too much pain or have any concerns, let your therapist know. They are there to help.
Trust the Process: Remember, therapists are professionals. They have seen it all and they're trained to make the process as painless as possible.
Avoid Tight Clothing: Give the area some time to breathe. Loose-fitting underwear and pants are your friends.
Stay Cool: Avoid hot baths, saunas, and excessive sweating for at least 24 hours.
Soothing the Skin: After the procedure, it's normal to experience some redness and sensitivity. Applying a soothing lotion can help alleviate these symptoms.
Exfoliate: A few days after waxing, start exfoliating the area gently to prevent ingrown hairs.
SkinCare: Make sure to take home a bottle of our Ingrown Hair Concentrate to soothe skin, and prevent bumps & breakouts.
